I sewed something and it hasn’t fallen apart yet.

It took a rainy day to finally get started on my cousin’s diaper bag. Sunday afternoon, headed out to JoAnn’s for lining fabric, interfacing (makes the pockets a bit more sturdy), duck cloth, matching thread, a seam ripper (absolute necessity in my case), and all that jazz. Got started as soon as I got home cutting out the pattern and after 3 hours of trying, finally got the bobbin in right and working. I haven’t touched a sewing machine since middle school… and I wasn’t any good at it then either. Anyway, for a true beginner, this pattern was pretty awesome! Most of the seams are hidden so the fact that 90% of them are crooked is irrelevant. The few seams that are visible came towards the end of the project so I had a better feel for it. The only thing I couldn’t seem to get around was towards the end, I had to sew through MANY layers of fabric in the handle and my poor little machine couldn’t handle it. I also broke 3 needles trying.

The best part is I found a matching changing pad/diaper/wipes case on Etsy!

I really hope Kacie doesn’t see this.
